Floating-rate borrowers, whose interest is directly linked to the repo rate, benefit the fastest. The reduction enhances affordability, especially in mid-income and affordable housing segments, reviving demand and buyer confidence.

This aggressive easing reflects RBI’s confidence in cooling inflation and stable economic growth. Inflation had fallen to around 3.2–3.3%, well within target, allowing space for policy intervention.
